What Will Be Will Be

Some months ago, I wrote "what will be will be" on my Facebook page feeling it was one of those golden rules of life. I woke up this morning only to find the same statement on my wall and it got me thinking if the statement is really true or something people tell themselves whenever they feel life is full of uncertainties or difficulties, or when they are in a situation they have no control over!!!
I remember singing the Que Sara Sara song with my mum and lil sister when I was a boy, I loved the song so much back then, and I always felt whatever will be will be! Boy, how wrong was I. My life experiences have taught me What will be will not just happen, they will only happen to those that make them happen.
We all remember those times our expectations were not met, maybe it was that time your JAMB score couldn't allow you study the course of your dreams, or when you got that mail telling you that you are out of the running for a particular job, amongst many others, what happened to "what will be will be"!!!
A popular book comes to mind now, "who moved my cheese" if you haven't read it, please do, its a great story. I can't summarise the Story now, but the major lesson is that a person has to be proactive and must be willing to adapt to change quickly to be successful in life.
I hate blogging from my mobile phone, so I will conclude this post with this saying Life will give you so many lemons, its up to you to turn them into lemonades. What will be will only be to those that have decided to be proactive...

Dogs will always be fine

I was watching my dogs (Snoop and Diva) the other day, and I asked myself a question, WHAT ARE THESE DOGS THINKING? Some of the things that came to my mind were

1) Snoop and Diva: Why do we eat turkey on Sundays alone, can't we just have it everyday?

2) Diva: Can we please have beef everyday instead of that stupid fish?

3) Diva:  DELE ITS TIME FOR BREAKFAST, I AM HUNGRY!!!!!!

4) Diva: Why did we stop having biscuits daily, you know I really love biscuits.

5) Snoop: Please Dele, can you take Diva away for like emmmmmm forever cos she is a PEST...

6) Diva: Why is snoop always so quiet, I think he must be like 100years old

7) Snoop: Does this Diva have a brain at all, i bet its a stomach thats in her head thats why she loves food

8) Snoop and Diva: why do they always tell us to do silly stuff like sit, shake, stay, kiss kiss and so many other silly commands, whats the whole point

9) Snoop and Diva: We love Dele more than May cos he gives us food most of the time, even though it comes late a lot of times

10) Snoop and Diva: Thank GOD I am in this Family, I love these people...

After pondering on all these thoughts and so many other nasty ones which I didn't post, I came to one conclusion, Dogs will always be fine as long as they are fed regularly, and they receive some love every now and then...

Baby prayers...

Its my birthday today, and I have decided to show the whole world the cutest baby picture and say a prayer for myself. 

Lord I thank you for this Life that you have given me, its a gift which I treasure,

Lord I thank you for the wonderful family you sent me through (I love them so much)

Lord I thank you for my parents, and all my siblings cos they are the sweetest people I could ever call family,

Lord I thank you for my friends who I relate with day to day,

Lord I thank you for the gift of salvation and forgiveness of all my sins.

Please Dear Lord, as I enter this new year, I ask;

That I may know you more,

That your light will shine in my life,

That I may fulfill my purpose in this world,

That I will live the way you want me to live daily.

I ask that you bless me in all my ways Father,

That the lines will fall for me in pleasant places,

That my life shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water and may I bear fruits in season,

That I prosper in everything i lay my hands upon.

I am just a little child before you Lord,

I come before you with childlike faith,

Please give me grace to trust you more in my daily living,

And to please you in all I do.

All these I pray in Jesus name

AMEN!!!

Happy Times

Sometimes in life we smile
Sometimes we Cry,
Sometimes we have fun with friends,
Sometimes we are lonely,
Sometimes we look for people or things to make us happy,
Then we are back to our ground state!!!
We want to be happy at all times,
Yet it never happens.

I have realized happiness is always a temporary state,
I am yet to see someone that has been happy all his life(please let me know if u find one)

However, there is a more pleasant way,
A feeling so deep that I can't find any set of words to express it.
Its a feeling from deep inside my soul
Its a feeling of pure Joy which springs out of my belly
Its a Joy that can only be provided by a power greater that any other in existence.
It a Joy that comes from the assurance that everything is gonna be alright someday.
Its Joy that comes with the Holy Ghost's inhabitation.

Sometimes we may be sad
Sometimes we may be crying
Sometimes we may feel helpless,
Yet we can still be Joyful cos we have God in us, and someday we are gonna be with Him.

THE JOY OF THE LORD IS OUR STRENGTH

Poverty or stupidity

So i was driving last week along a popular road in Ibadan, and there i found myself staring at this woman on a motorcycle (Okada as we all call it here). She was carrying a really big mattress on her head, she was backing a baby, and the motorcycle had a number of kegs attached to it.

There and then I started thinking of pictures i had seen in time past of people carrying heavy stuff on okada or doing something really crazy on the motorcycle. i was always of the opinion that most of those pictures were actually doctored to portray what the photographer wanted to express as I felt most reasonable people will not do crazy stunts like this.

However, this was happening in my very own eyesight, the motorcycle was moving so slowly like it was towing a lorry. While all these thoughts were going through my mind in milliseconds, i was trying to assemble my phone cos the battery was out and start taking pictures of the incidence since it isn't something i come across daily.

I wonder if its poverty or stupidity that makes people do crazy things like this!!! If the woman wasn't thinking about herself or anything else, what about the baby???

My first post

Finally I created my blog... yippee...

I remember at the start of 2011, one of the first things i planned on doing was to start blogging and it has taken me 57 days to get it done... talk about procrastination (my biggest enemy). As the popular saying goes, the best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago, and the next best time is today.

I gotta go now, I hope to bring out the writer in me, so I will be putting up my first real post very soon.
